Here’s when Dale Earnhardt Jr. will make his debut as a NASCAR TV analyst
By Nick Tylwalk
Dale Earnhardt Jr. won’t get to call any races for NBC Sports until the second half of the season, but he’ll make his TV analyst debut a lot sooner than that.
NBC Sports is making sure that NASCAR fans won’t be missing Dale Earnhardt Jr. for too much longer.
Coverage of races doesn’t shift to NBC until the summer, but there is NASCAR programming on NBCSN on a weekly basis all season long. With that in mind, it should come as little surprise that as announced by NBC Sports today, Earnhardt will make his TV analyst debut on Monday, March 12, on NASCAR America.
Earnhardt Jr. will appear this Monday and Tuesday on NASCAR America to help break down the previous weekend’s races and discuss the latest news with Steve Letarte, one of his former crew chiefs. The show airs on NBCSN Mondays at 6:00 p.m ET, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 p.m. ET.
While Junior will be a welcome sight on the program to his legions of fans, most people are more eagerly anticipating his work as a color commentator when NBC starts broadcasting races. Earnhardt has some prior experience in that area, helping to call a few races during the 2016 season.

Dale Jr. has always been sincere about his desire to remain involved in NASCAR in some capacity besides his role as owner of JR Motorsports and its XFINITY Series teams. He’s staying true to his word, and everyone involved in the sport will be happy that they don’t have to wait very long at all to hear what he has to think about the 2018 season.
