NFL Draft 2018: Top 32 draft prospects after the NFL Combine
The Florida State season in a nutshell certainly is going to go down as one of their more interesting ever to say the least. They started the season off playing Alabama, had a natural disaster shift their schedule around and lost their starting quarterback to injury. To top it all off, their head coach left for Texas A&M after the season.
What was consistent was the play of their defensive line up front. The Seminoles’ defensive line led by example and as a result, multiple players from the group are going to see themselves drafted.
Josh Sweat was one of those dynamic players for the Seminoles that put his best forward in and up and down season. He finished the season with 56 tackles and 5.5 sacks and chose to sit out the Independence Bowl.
Sweat’s going to be the prototypical EDGE defender at the next level. At 6’4″ and 251 pounds, Sweat’s going to line up on the outside, whether it’s hand up or hand down. The former five-star recruit did himself a favor by having a big combine.
Sweat ran a 4.53 40-yard dash and showed off impressive athletic ability with a 39.5-inch vertical leap. With long arms and an incredible athletic resume to follow, he’s going to be an absolute nightmare when coming after the quarterback or getting his arms up in space.
