Kansas City Chiefs full 2018 NFL mock draft
The Chiefs allowed Dontari Poe to walk a year ago in free agency, and they were never able to replace him. Bennie Logan came in from the Philadelphia Eagle son a one-year deal, but it’s unlikely that he gets retained after an average year.
Looking at the roster, Kansas City doesn’t have anybody who is a true nose tackle. The Chiefs could play Rakeem Nunez-Roches there or try Justin Hamilton in the spot, but that’s a big ask and a ton of blind faith.
Settle is listed at 6-foot-3 and 335 pounds, making him the perfect fit as a run-stuffer on the inside. At this point, he’s both the best player available and fills a clear need.
This might seem like overkill, but the Chiefs have to add corners. Kansas City typically keeps six corners on the roster, and there are a trio of spots available with Fuller, Nelson and Amerson taking up the top three.
Jackson is small at 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, but Veach is building the defense around speed and quickness, something the LSU star has in spades. At the NFL Combine, Jackson ran a blazing 4.32 40-yard dash.
