There is a new kid on the block. The Las Vegas Golden Knights are the freshest franchise in professional sports. They opened their doors for the first time in October 2017. The Golden Knights have broken numerous records for an expansion team. Vegas has shattered the record for wins in a team’s inaugural season. If you aren’t careful, their mascot may shatter your face.
At first glance, Chance looks like a dinosaur. However, According to NHL.com, Chance is a Gila monster. A Gila monster is a lizard. National Geographic states that there are only a few types of venomous lizards. A Gila monster is one of them.
Chance has been on a roll. When is the last time an expansion team has been this successful in its first year? The Golden Knights’ mascot deserves some credit. Not many experts believed that Vegas could be in the playoffs, yet it is on the verge of doing so. Chance has been leading the charge by getting the people of Vegas excited about the sport of hockey.
The gigantic yellow lizard brings a lot to the table. His scales help him avoid injuries. Punching him in the head is like punching a brick wall. He resides in Sin City, so he has a dark side behind that famous grin. If you provoke him to bite, the venom will cause serious problems. In a fight with this Gila monster, we don’t like the opponent’s chances.
