9. Gnash (Nashville Predators)

Nashville is the state capital of Tennessee and is best known as Music City. Nashville is also the home of the 2017 Western Conference champions of the NHL. The Predators have been a very competitive team since their inaugural season in 1998. They don’t have the history of the Buffalo Sabres, but they did master the sabre-toothed cat.

Gnash has been the Predators’ official mascot since their inception. Buffalo’s Sabretooth is more of a cartoon character, whereas Gnash has an edge to him. There is a meaning behind his name. According to Dictionary.com, gnash means to grind or strike (the teeth) together, especially in rage or pain. This spells trouble for anyone who gets in his way.

Unlike the “tee-eye-double geh-er” wannabe in Buffalo, Gnash brings the element on intimidation to the bar. His fangs are sharp and will definitely draw blood. This sabre-toothed tiger has a violent grin on his face, which informs everyone to keep your distance. If you have to decide on which sabre-toothed tiger to call, Gnash is the clear favorite.
