Seattle Seahawks full 2018 mock draft
By Conor Dorney
New year, new offensive line?
Over the past several years, the Seattle Seahawks have approached the construction of their offensive line much like a half-hearted New Year’s resolution. Despite all the resources poured into the hogs up front, it remains a need for the ‘Hawks year after year.
While the club is likely to miss out on some of the top interior players in this class, Virginia Tech’s Wyatt Teller makes a lot of sense in the fourth round. Teller’s tape was lackluster in 2017, but flashed a lot of talent in the year prior, something that the Seahawks seem keen on taking advantage of in their scouting process.
The free agent signing of D.J. Fluker solidifies the right side of the line at guard, though he could be kicked back out to tackle if (when) things get dicey for former first-rounder Germain Ifedi. Teller’s positional versatility is the kind of thing that Seattle covets in its lineman, however the coaching turnover could certainly alter some of these draft trends.
Overall, Teller has great strength and surprising athleticism to make a difference in the run game. The Seahawks would be comfortable playing him inside on either side of the line and he could at the very least serve as a solid reserve player to start next season.
