Is there a better story in the 2018 NFL Draft than Shaquem Griffin? The answer is no for a number of reasons, and I know that I will be rooting for him no matter the uniform he’s wearing next season.

Griffin has overcome every obstacle thrown his way and though we’d all love to see him taken in the first round, he’s more likely to land in rounds four or five. His size makes it unclear exactly what position he’ll be playing at the next level, but one thing is clear: put him on the field and he will make plays.

The Seahawks have talked about changing the culture in their locker room as they enter a transition year. Pairing Shaquem with his brother Shaquill would go a long way towards building that new culture.

This draft is full of talented running back prospects and for that reason, Seattle could double-dip at the position.

While Arizona State’s Kalen Ballage never matched the production many expected from him, his other-worldly athleticism make him an intriguing project. He has size, speed, and power, in addition to experience on special teams. If the ‘Hawks pass on Alabama’s Bo Scarbrough, expect Ballage to be their back of choice in the middle rounds.

The Earl Thomas saga could become a draft day soap opera, but it’s very likely that the Seahawks wind up with another safety during the 2018 Draft.

The team has already brought in Stanford’s Justin Reid for an official visit, and he could be a target at the end of round one, but one under-the-radar prospect is Northwestern’s Godwin Igwebuike.

Igwebuike is a fascinating person off-the-field, but also posted some of the most remarkable athleticism numbers from any safety in this class. He was a leader and playmaker in a talented Northwestern defensive backfield, coached by former Pete Carroll co-worker Jerry Brown.

Nickerson wowed at the Combine with a 4.32-second 40-yard dash time and his draft helium could see him selected earlier than this spot.

Nicknamed “The Mayor,” Nickerson is a talented slot corner prospect with outstanding fluidity in his hips and great production at the college level. With a lack of big, physical cornerback prospects in this class, expect Seattle to instead target a player like Nickerson or Boston College’s Isaac Yiadom.
