Here are the Final Round highlights from Patrick Reed at the 2018 edition of The Masters from Augusta National.

Known simply as “Captain America” to many for his contributions at the 2016 Ryder Cup, Patrick Reed entered the final round of 2018 Masters with a three-stroke lead. While Rory McIlroy charged closely at 11-under Reed would have to stay composed throughout the final 18 holes at Augusta in order to walk away with the green jacket.

On the first tee box, Reed’s opening drive got away from him just enough left to put some early pressure on the leader. Out of the pine straw, he hit it across the way into the greenside bunker. With a long opportunity at par Reed narrowly missed the following putt and settled for bogey.

With his second shot on the par-5 2nd Reed again found the greenside bunker. As he chipped up to the right side of the green he set himself up for a potential birdie. Another putt for Reed just skated by as he had to settle for par.

After he dialed in his tee shot Reed placed his 125-yard second shot just over the 3rd hole and onto the fringe hole high. As he stepped to the putt he took his time to observe his position. With a calculated stroke, Reed caught the line and dropped in his first birdie of the day.

With a par at the 5th Reed transitioned to the par-3 6th hole. With his tee shot landing well on the other side of the green Reed was forced to push a hard putt across the green for birdie. Unfortunately, the second shot went well past the hole that ended in his second bogey of the day.

Shaking off the memories of the past hole Reed stoically marched ahead to the seventh. After his drive ended up in the first cut to the left he would go on to place his second shot in the middle of the green as it rolled to within inches of the hole for the near eagle. Reed would finish it off to get his round back to even par for the day.

Reed would go on to par the next three straight holes as he entered the nerve-racking back nine of Augusta. Another bogey-birdie stretch at 11 and 12 brought Reed just one stroke ahead of the surging Jordan Spieth.

At the par-4 14th, Reed set up his second shot from 161 yards out. After his approach shot landed eight feet from the hole he was set up with a birdie putt to increase his lead and put some breathing room between him and competition. Just as he did at the 2016 Ryder Cup, Reed put the pressure on his shoulders and delivered the birdie with precision.

With Spieth in the clubhouse at 13-under and Rickie Fowler closing strong to get to 14-under all Reed need on 18 was a par. With his approach shot into the par-4, he needed two putts to secure the green jacket. Two putts are exactly what Reed put down as he sank the par put with authority to win The Masters.
