9. D.J. Chark, LSU

NFL COMPARISON – Mike Wallace

PROJECTED DRAFT POSITION – Round 3

Chark’s game film alone truly does not do him justice. LSU has not had a top tier quarterback for quite some time which can make for a tough evaluation when it comes to their receiving corps. A very good way to eliminate questions about your athleticism and talent? Run a 4.3 40-yard dash, have a 40-inch vertical jump, and broad jump 129 inches at the NFL scouting combine. These insane numbers combined with his 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame make him a scout’s dream come true.

Chark’s elite track like speed make him deadly on double moves as defending corners are constantly aware of his knack to leave people in the dust. He will need some work in the route-running department as well as overall strength to improve his ability in beating corners in press coverage. The attributes that cannot be taught, such as size, speed, and natural athleticism, Chark already possesses.

With NFL-caliber coaches to teach him the nuances of the receiver position and an NFL quarterback finally throwing him passes, Chark has the untapped potential to raise a lot of eyebrows come Sundays.
