Heat-Sixers (Sixers Lead 1-0)

High Salary (Heat)

Hassan Whiteside ($6,800): It’s tough to contribute when you play only 12 minutes. Granted, he wasn’t doing much in those 12 minutes and was played off the floor by Ilyasova. Due to his offensive limitations and Philadelphia not having a post player like Joel Embiid, Whiteside’s flaws are exposed. There’s a chance he responds in a big way, but it’s a tough risk to take after Game One. **

High Salary (Sixers)

Ben Simmons ($10,500): Simmons didn’t look like a rookie at all in Game One, finishing with 49.8 fantasy points. His salary has jumped to where he needs 46.6 fantasy points to reach value on Monday. Logic says the Heat will do a better job on him on Game Two. But until I see it, I’m not believing it. The Sixers are rolling right now and it’s tough to doubt them. The increase in salary is slightly concerning. ****

Robert Covington ($7,900): Covington was a value miss on Monday, but his minutes were down as other guys were hot. Still, he hasn’t performed at his best against Miami this season. This salary is a bit too rich for my tastes given the value you can find elsewhere on the Sixers. ***

Ersan Ilyasova ($7,300): Ilyasova is playing out of his mind right now and torched the Heat for 37.8 fantasy points. He’s stepped up in a big way with Embiid out of the lineup. I don’t love him at this salary, but I’m also not doubting him at this point. He’ll go cold some time during this series, but it’s tough to see that happening while Philadelphia is at home. ***

High Value (Heat)

Kelly Olynyk ($6,400): Olynyk was in playoff form in Game One, finishing with 38.4 fantasy points. If Hassan Whiteside can’t stay on the floor, Olynyk is the best option. Production has rarely been an issue for Olynyk in the last month of the season, it’s been a lack of minutes. Right now, he’s more reliable than Whiteside at a much lower price. ***

Justise Winslow ($5,300): Winslow had 28.9 fantasy points in the 31 minutes he played in Game One. He’s not going to score a whole lot, but he will get rebounds and chip in with defense. Against a Sixers offense with a lot of movement and passing, Winslow’s defensive versatility keeps him on the floor. ***

High Value (Sixers)

Dario Saric ($6,000): Saric had 30.7 fantasy points in Game One. He’s played well against the Heat all season, going over 30 fantasy points in each game. Until the Heat prove they have an answer for him, keep taking him. He’s a better option at a lower salary than Covington. ****

J.J. Redick ($6,200): Redick delivered 32.9 fantasy points in Game One. His shooting is going to be a big factor of Philadelphia this series and he’s one guy you don’t have to worry about in the playoffs. Ilyasova and Belinelli are hot right now, but Redick is as consistent as they come. ***

Marco Belinelli ($5,900): Once again, if you paired Redick and Belinelli, you probably did well on Saturday. His salary has jumped a bit, but he’s been delivering 30-plus fantasy points on a nightly basis in Philadelphia. Role players shoot better at home and he’s been shooting lights out for weeks now. Until Miami proves they can stop this duo, you have to roll with them.

Other Players

Miami: There isn’t a whole lot to like on Miami after Game One. But here’s the thing, Erik Spoelstra will make the proper adjustments and everyone will be taking Philadelphia players on Monday. So hitting on that Miami guy will be key. Give James Johnson ($5,200) a chance. His salary is low enough to where he won’t completely kill you if he’s a miss and he has big game capability. The Heat need more from Josh Richardson ($5,600) and Goran Dragic ($6,300), I’m just not sure they’ll get it.

Philadelphia: It looks like Philadelphia will play Amir Johnson ($4,200) over Richaun Holmes ($3,700), so that’s an adjustment to make. Markelle Fultz ($4,400) could see his way into more minutes after a solid Game One.
