The Cleveland Browns have a golden opportunity to turn their franchise around next week, and adding a star running back would help them out immensely. In the 2018 NFL Draft class, there is one running back who stands above the rest. Penn State’s Saquon Barkley is going to go early in the first round next Thursday, and the Browns should be the team that picks him with the fourth overall pick.

Barkley is not just you every-down running back that teams covet. In fact, he has the ability to make plays happen all over the field. During his time at Penn State, Barkley was a dominant player in the run game, and in the passing attack, while serving as one of the more dangerous return men in the entire Big Ten Conference.

With the Browns, he would become their best running back since Jim Brown. Sure, that is a bold statement considering he has never played a down in the NFL, but he is the kind of generational talent that makes me confident in saying that. Cleveland could hit it big twice in the first four picks next Thursday, and with the talent they have already brought in this offseason, they could be a playoff contender in the AFC as early as next season.
