The Boston Bruins were in Toronto again tonight for Game 4 of their series with the Maple Leafs. Here is everything you need to know about the game.
The Boston Bruins were hit with some brutal news before this one even started, with Selke Trophy finalist Patrice Bergeron deemed out of Game 4 with an upper body injury. You can read more about that here.
The Bruins could not have asked for a better start in this game, with a goal in the first minute on a point shot from Torey Krug. The shot was screened and beat Leafs goalie Frederik Andersen over his blocker shoulder. The Leafs responded with strong play in response to the early Bruins goal with several good scoring chances in a fast-paced first period.
Eventually, Mitch Marner would set up Tomas Plekanec to tie the game at one. The Leafs could have easily been up by three in the first, but Tuukka Rask played spectacularly in the first period keeping it a 1-1 game heading into the break.
The second period was more of the same, the Leafs setting the pace and Rask keeping them at bay. The Leafs continued to outplay the Bruins, spending most of the period in the Bruins zone before Brad Marchand scored to put the Bruins up 2-1 through two.
Jake DeBrusk opened the scoring in the third after a missed pinch by the Leafs that lead to a Bruins two-on-one. The Bruins buckled down in the third and played a defensive game to hold off the Leafs and 3-1 was your final score, matching the Bruins lead in this series.
Three Stars
3. David Pastrnak
What can’t you say about the 22 year-old Pastrnak. He’s been the Bruins best player in these playoffs so far, with 11 points through four games. He had two helpers tonight, including this beauty pass to Marchand for a goal:

2. Brad Marchand
Even in the early going when the Bruins didn’t look great, no one on the ice had an answer for Marchand. Anyone watching could tell you it was only a matter of time before he got on the board in this one. Marchand continues to play at a level comparable to the best in the league.
1. Tuukka Rask
Rask was phenomenal. He stopped 31 out of 32 shots tonight. The Bruins could have easily been down two or three goals early in this game but Rask kept pucks out of the net by any means necessary. Including on this Leafs breakaway:
