Of all the storied programs in college football, no team has a more distinct war chant than the Florida State Seminoles. Along with the chop that follows suit, every Florida State game has that same ring to it.

The Seminoles and their championship history have perhaps the most recognizable sound of any program. The war chant has since been adopted by professional sports teams ever since the Seminoles began using it.

Each game starts with Osceola roaring down the field atop Renegade while planting a burning spear directly into the ground. If that’s not the coolest thing in college football, it would take something electrifying to top it.

Besides the cool war chant and the awesome start to each home game at Doak Campbell Stadium, the Seminoles are about winning just as much. Under the guidance of Bobby Bowden, the Seminoles won multiple national championships and developed one of the strongest brands.

Their rivalry with Miami at a time was the best in college football and it was always a brawl between the two. As the years went on and Jimbo Fisher took over, he helped lead them to a national championship as well.

With three championships and three Heisman winners, the Seminoles have had some of the best talent come through their program. They’re one of those post-80s “blue bloods” that have put themselves among the older members of the group.
