Main Slate – Dodgers at Diamondbacks

Dodgers Probable Starter – Hyun-Jin Ryu, LHP

2.22 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 10.80 K/9

Vs LHH – 0.95 average, .247 wOBA and 13.3 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .167 average, .240 wOBA and 40.0 hard contact rate

The crafty veteran for the Dodgers has really been lights out to the start fo the season. He would actually be firmly in play if it wasn’t for the fact that the Arizona offense has two major lefty killers in their lineup and the game is on the road for Ryu. The Diamondback offense isn’t exactly as good as many people seem to think but they have enough firepower to make life miserable for Ryu. Frankly, he’s just not as good as he’s shown to this point in the season and regression is on the way. It’s just a matter of when it hits and how hard. Two righties stand out above the pack and you could potentially play a couple others if you think Ryu gets blown up.

Diamondback Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Paul Goldschmidt, A.J. Pollock

Secondary Options – Nick Ahmed, Chris Owings

Diamondbacks Probable Starter – Zack Godley, RHP

3.81 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 8.89 K/9

Vs LHH – .229 average, .278 wOBA and 20.6 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .281 average, .327 wOBA and 40.0 hard contact rate

The Dodgers offense is very hit or miss right now and that’s likely going to continue since they lost shortstop Corey Seager for the season yesterday. The young star is having Tommy John surgery and there’s not a whole lot of attractive pieces to the L.A. offense tonight. Most games you could still play Cody Bellringer but I’m not going to pay for him after seeing the splits that Godley has. He can be an erratic pitcher at times, with a relatively high walk rate. This is game where Godley is firmly in play due to what the Dodgers offense currently looks like. If you’re not paying for a stud, Godley is likely one of your best bets.
