The Nashville Predators found their stride in Game 4 to tie the series against the Winnipeg Jets at two apiece. Check below for our thoughts from this one as we head to Game 5 on Saturday.

We’ve seen a couple of incredible games the previous two times out, and though this one may have been a bit more subdued, it wasn’t for lack of story. The Winnipeg Jets hadn’t lost at home since the dinosaur age, so tying the series was going to be an uphill battle from the start for the Nashville Predators. Now that they got it done with a 2-1 win, it’s back home where the Predators also hate losing. What did we gather from this one? Check below for three thoughts we had while jinxing Pekka Rinne’s shutout.

Three Things We Learned From Game 4

1: Someone get Viktor Arvidsson a jump rope

This guy must have been a blast during recess. Maybe a bit of a hopscotch hog, but look at that air time. This definitely isn’t the first time he’s set up a screen with his moon boots on. He does it seemingly every game. Though Arvidsson isn’t putting up a wide range of numbers, he doesn’t need to when he can block a goalie’s view that well and see his team score on it. We understand that rocketman is over in Tampa Bay, but someone is clearly vying for the nickname. Where is Van Halen when we need them?

2: Pekka Rinne was at his very best when his team needed it the most

Much has been made of how Rinne has struggled so far against Winnipeg. It hasn’t been entirely on him, but he also came into Game 4 having given up at least three goals in each contest so far. With his team down 2-1 in the series, the Predators had to have something stellar from their star netminder to keep the Jets from smelling too much blood in the water. Rinne offered a brilliant night, stopping 33 of 34 to send Nashville back home tied up. He also proved that the knob of his stick has some kind of magical powers, as we still don’t understand this save.

3: Patrik Laine might need some voodoo to further rid himself of this goal drought

Right now he has four points in the series, but only one is a goal. Tonight was just his first in seven games. It hasn’t affected Winnipeg too badly, but it could start to. Mark Scheifele has been doing the heavy lifting through four games, but Laine has to find the net more often soon. He’s in need of a huge game before the Jets find themselves in a drought across the board. Also, if Rinne has found his game, Winnipeg can’t continue to rely on Scheifele or Wheeler. They need help.
