First Basemen

It seems as if every first basemen carries some sort of value on this slate. Each one is affordable.

Marco Estrada has not been good this season and a Rays stack could pay dividends with low ownership in GPP play. C.J. Cron is one of three Rays, along with Wilson Ramos and Jesus Sucre, who have hit home runs off of Estrada in their lifetimes.

On the other side of that game is Kendrys Morales, who is 16 for 31 lifetime against Chris Archer with six doubles, three home runs and eight RBI.

Logan Morrison has found himself on this list a lot this week. He is 7 for 22 against James Shields with two doubles and a home run.

Matt Adams ($3,800), vs. Jake Arrieta

Matt Adams carries a 7 for 22 clip against Jake Arrieta with two doubles, four RBI and five walks. Adams power numbers have been better at home, where he’s hit five of his seven home runs and has a .372 ISO. His strikeout rate is also down to 17.3 percent at home.

Joe Mauer ($3,600), vs. James Shields

Shields HR/9 innings has hovered around 2 the past two seasons. It’s down right now but his FIP is still 4.72. Mauer is 17 for 57 (.298) against him lifetime with two doubles, one triple, one home run and 10 RBI.
