Royals at Orioles

Royals Probable Starter – Ian Kennedy, RHP

2.92 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 8.51 K/9

Vs LHH – .271 average, .326 wOBA and 38.5 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .263 average, .304 wOBA and 41.3 hard contact rate

I think this slate might be built to troll me as we’re already at two pitchers who I’ve played many hitters against with limited results to show for it. Kennedy doesn’t have any big splits but he is slightly better against right handed hitting and his fly ball rate is significantly lower as well. The Orioles have a lot of righty bats and it wouldn’t shock me if Kennedy had a passable start. I’m also a little bitter that my Orioles stack got shut down last night by Eric Skoglund. I’ll likely pass on many Baltimore hitters even though I also won’t use Kennedy that much. He’s not as good as he’s pitched so far.

Orioles Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Manny Machado

Secondary Options – Jonathan Schoop, Mark Trumbo, Chris Davis in GPP only

Orioles Probable Starter – Chris Tillman, RHP

9.24 ERA, 2.05 WHIP and 4.62 K/9

Vs LHH – .417 average, .517 wOBA and 54.8 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .290 average, .384 wOBA and 32.7 hard contact rate

If you’re in a Royals uniform tonight and can swing a bat, I might roster you in my lineup. Chris Tillman is one of the worst starters in baseball and the last time we saw him, he got mauled by the Angels. Tillman gave up seven runs in the first inning and we could actually see similar results tonight. Mike Moustakas and Luis Duda might be the must plays of the night at their respective price points.

Royals Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Mike Moustakas, Lucas Duda, Alex Gordon

Secondary Options – Jorge Soler, Whit Merrifield, Salvador Perez, Jon Jay

Home Run Pick – Gordon, Soler and Moustakas all feast tonight off of Tillman

Mariners at Blue Jays

Mariners Probable Starter – Mike Leake, RHP

6.28 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 6.05 K/9

Vs LHH – .301 average, .366 wOBA and 36.1 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .293 average, .389 wOBA and 41.7 hard contact rate

We really don’t have to be too picky about how to target Leake tonight. Things have unravelled for him this season as both his strikeouts and ground ball rate have taken a big dip. He was never a big strikeout pitcher regardless but without either weapon, Leake has just been getting hammered so far in 2018. He’s given up at least three earned runs his last five times out and the Jays are in a great spot tonight. We’re going to be saying that quite a lot because the pitching options tonight are not very good.

Blue Jays Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Josh Donaldson, Yangervis Solarte, Teoscar Hernandez, Justin Smoak

Secondary Options – Kendrys Morales, Kevin Pillar

Blue Jays Probable Starter – J.A. Happ, LHP

3.67 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 11.45 K/9

Vs LHH – .122 average, .139 wOBA and 19.2 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .250 average, .341 wOBA and 32.5 hard contact rate

Typically I’d be really happy to play Happ at his price point of just $9,100 but tonight might be a different story. The Mariners don’t strike out a ton against lefties and that’s been the strength of Happ’s season so far. Happ also has some pretty drastic splits depending on what type of batter he’s facing and a lot of the Seattle power bats are right handed. The Mariners could be a really interesting stacking option, although they’re not a great cash game play.

Mariners Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Nelson Cruz, Mitch Haniger

Secondary Options – Jean Segura, Mike Zunino, Ryon Healy

Home Run Pick – Josh Donaldson
