Justifyās quest for the Triple Crown continues on Saturday, May 19, when the three-year-old will run the 143rd Preakness Stakes in Baltimore, Maryland. Of course, this wouldnāt be horse racing without a full week of events in advance of a two minute race. Hereās everything going on in Baltimore during Preakness week.
Among the events leading up to the Preakness is the Alibi Breakfast on Thursday during which trainers, jockeys and owners of Preakness horses āshare personal insights with racing fansā¦about what it takes to become thoroughbred racingās next greatest legend.ā
There are also Sunrise Tours around the grounds, Tuesday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET and Black-Eyed Susan Day ā the Kentucky Oaks to the Preaknessā Kentucky Derby.
Because the Preakness falls on Armed Forces Day this year, the Preakness will have the Maryland National Guard escort the Woodlawn Vase and host performances rom the US Naval Academy Glee Club and Joint Service Color Guard.
