By the time Adrian Wojnarowksi reveals the picks of the 2018 NBA Draft there might not be many surprises near the top. With a consensus top tier of DeAndre Ayton, Luka Doncic, Marvin Bagley and Jaren Jackson Jr. emerging, a few more weeks of speculation and front office leaks may paint an even clearer picture.

But even with clarity, will these be the correct choices for franchises in search of a savior? Will GMs fall trap to traditional narratives and miss the next big thing? Which team is most likely to regret their draft night decision?

To help address these questions, Cole Zwicker (@colezwicker) joins the latest episode of Fastbreak Breakfast. Cole covers the NBA Draft year round for The Stepien and appears on the Ode to Oden and Game Theory podcasts. He breaks down the best options for the first ten picks of the 2018 Draft and also covers the following topics:

  • Is it possible Doncic may fall out of the top two or is that the typical pre-draft misinformation?
  • Do Ayton’s physical attributes make him a safer pick that Doncic?
  • Which lottery teams have “foundational pieces” that could affect which prospects they take?
  • Is it possible the Grizzlies aren’t telling the truth when they say they are trying to win now?
  • Will the Bulls and Clippers try to move up in the draft using their multiple first round picks? Which clubs ahead of them should take advantage of trading down?
  • If the 2017 Draft were done over, does Donovan Mitchell or Jayson Tatum go first overall? Who goes third?
