Green Bay Packers: Who becomes Aaron Rodgers’ favorite target?

One of the bigger surprises of the offseason was wide receiver Jordy Nelson leaving the Green Bay Packers to go to the Oakland Raiders. Not only are the Raiders getting a tremendous player in Nelson, but Aaron Rodgers is losing his favorite target, which could have major repercussions on this offense.

The Packers tried to supplement the loss of Nelson by bringing in a new tight end, as they signed Jimmy Graham to be the red zone target in 2018. Rodgers is always at his best when he has a solid tight end, and Graham will have the luxury of catching balls from possibly a third Hall of Fame quarterback.

It will be interesting to see what kind of effect the loss of Nelson has on Rodgers. In addition to Nelson, Rodgers also lost his quarterbacks coach this offseason, two moves which he made sure the media knew he was not a fan of.

During their time together, Nelson proved to be one of the best in the business in the red zone, which is an area this Packers offense lives or dies in. Rodgers is also coming off a broke collarbone, but should be ready to go this summer, as he looks to get a rapport with the rest of the wide receiver group.

Losing Nelson is not the end of the world, as Rodgers still has a bunch of talent to throw to. Davante Adams and Randall Cobb have played with Rodgers for quite some time, and the addition of Equanimeous St. Brown could prove to be a steal after the team drafted him in the sixth round. Rodgers will be fine, as will the Packers offense.
