1. LeBron James

It didn’t matter in Game 7 because LeBron.

What else is there to say about this guy that hasn’t been said? LeBron James would make an excellent physics teacher. There, maybe no one has ever said that about him before.

We’ll praise James for carrying a team of role players to the Finals. Kyrie Irving was traded in the offseason, Kevin Love basically missed the last two games of the series, their second best player was….Tristan Thompson? Just kidding, it was obviously Jeff Green. He got some help at important times, but the way he dictated this series, especially the last two games, was nothing short of amazing.

He played 48 minutes in Game 7. His 100th game of the season after averaging 37 minutes a game in the regular season. Yet he didn’t run out of gas because he’s a cyborg. Imagine a cyborg that doesn’t need to be oiled or charged because it’s smart enough to pace itself. Those are the robots that will rule the world one day. That’s LeBron and he already rules the Eastern Conference. He paced himself in Game 7 and trusted his teammates, who couldn’t buy a bucket, to keep him close enough to strike.

Is this LeBron’s greatest accomplishment? Maybe. It’s tough for me to say this was greater than leading a comeback down 3-1 against the 73-win Golden State Warriors. But he had another All-Star next to him in that comeback. He did this without James Jones. That’s a pretty big accomplishment.
