2. Collin Sexton, PG, Alabama

Last year, the Knicks drafted Frank Ntilikina eighth overall with the hope he’d be the point guard of the future. A season later, no one’s really sure what position he plays – though that’s due to their poor player development and hardly letting him actually run the point. (Ultimately, this may not matter all that much, with positionally-ambiguous basketball becoming en vogue, but it is what it is.) If the front office determines the French Prince works best off-ball, Collin Sexton would make an exceptional long-term partner.

Sexton excels in the spaces Ntilikina falls behind. He’s the aggressive, explosive athlete the Knicks need leading their backcourt. Together, they’d form a menacing defensive tandem with the quickness, speed, and length to swallow you up. Trey Burke was a revelation in his comeback story in New York, but he’s perfectly situated as your third guard. Emmanuel Mudiay isn’t the answer. For the Knicks to take a step into the next tier of respectability, they need to find a dynamic point guard. Sexton would fit like a glove. Roll Tide.
