FanDuel Lineup and Picks for Wednesday, May 30
Nationals at Orioles
Nationals Probable Starter – Max Scherzer, RHP
2.13 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 38.2 strikeout rate
Vs LHH – .192 average, .280 wOBA, 56.3 fly ball rate and 28.3 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .162 average, .211 wOBA, 42.6 fly ball rate and 40.7 hard contact rate
Scherzer is coming off his worst start of the season and I fully expect a bounce back performance tonight. Scherzer is “worse” against lefties and that’s not where the strength of this Baltimore lineup lies. I have zero interest in Orioles hitters. There is an interesting decision to be made between Scherzer or Coors hitters, because the Rockies are in a tremendous spot tonight. Finding a cheaper pitcher might be the way to go.
Orioles Hitters to Target
Elite Options – None
Secondary Options – Manny Machado
Orioles Probable Starter – David Hess, RHP
4.15 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 13.9 strikeout rate
Vs LHH – .345 average, .420 wOBA, 41.7 fly ball rate and 29.2 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .210 average, .288 wOBA, 48.5 fly ball rate and 36.4 hard contact rate
I definitely will not use Hess tonight and I’m going to gravitate towards the lefties for the Nationals tonight. Hess has been getting whacked by them in his major league action so far. Bryce Harper is obviously in play as one of the better lefties in baseball and Juan Soto is still $3,500. He showed off a variety of skills last night with a stolen base on top of a couple hits. I don’t know if I can pay $4,400 for Matt Adams but there is no denying he’s in a great spot. While I don’t think we need to get too picky here for the Nats. They’re one of the premier stacking options outside of Colorado tonight.
