FanDuel Lineup and Picks for Thursday, May 31
Indians at Twins
Indians Probable Starter – Shane Bieber, RHP
Major League Debut
Indians fans are excited to see what the Bieber Fever is all about(I’m allowed a terrible and overused pun once in a while) and he does have potential. In the minors this season, he was a ground ball heavy pitcher with a very solid strikeout rate. The scouting report seems to be he won’t be a huge strikeout pitcher in the majors, so this is a wait and see spot for me. I don’t see a Twins hitter that is heads and shoulders above the rest. If I had to pick anyone, I would lean to Max Kepler and Eddie Rosario. Brian Dozier and Miguel Sano could take any pitcher deep but they haven’t been too consistent this season.
Twins Hitters to Target
Elite Options – Max Kepler
Secondary Options – Eddie Rosario, Brian Dozier, Miguel Sano
Twins Probable Starter – Jake Odorizzi, RHP
3.34 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 23.5 strikeout rate
Vs LHH – .206 average, .318 wOBA, 54.3 fly ball rate and 32.4 hard contact rate
Vs RHH – .254 average, .343 wOBA, 53.9 fly ball rate and 34.4 hard contact rate
The Indians offense has been on fire the last five games, plating 43 runs in the past five games. They now get to face off against Odorizzi who is giving up just a ton of fly balls and he could be in a really bad spot tonight. I don’t think either side of the split is bad but righties do hit for a higher average. This could be a spot to use Edwin Encarnacion who had a big day yesterday. Michael Brantley, Jose Ramirez and Francisco Lindor are all in play tonight with Brantley being my favorite of the bunch.
