Who could sign one of the best small forwards in the league? Here are five potential destination for upcoming free agent Paul George.

After LeBron James, Paul George will be the most sought after name on the market. George is coming off a season where he averaged 21.9 points-per-game on 43 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent from 3. He also chipped in with 5.7 rebounds-per-game and 3.3 assists.

His numbers were slightly down from his last season a member of the Indiana Pacers, but that was to be expected. He was no longer the top option in Oklahoma City, instead playing Robin to Russell Westbrook’s Batman.

The 27-year-old still made his third straight All-Star game and was heralded for defense, though he failed to make one of the All-Defensive teams. Despite a successful individual season, the lasting memory of George in 2018 was his 2-16 performance in Game 6 against the Utah Jazz. Dubbing himself “Playoff P” prior to the playoffs, George failed to find consistency on both ends of the floor, struggling with his shot and losing Joe Ingles throughout the series.

The All-Star small forward has made no secret about where he desires to play. The Indiana Pacers traded him last offseason in fear they would lose him to the Los Angeles Lakers for nothing. The Oklahoma City Thunder took a risk in trading for him. According to him, OKC “checked all the boxes” in their season long pitch to get him to stay. But the lure of his hometown might be too much.
