NBA Draft 2018: 5 targets for the Utah Jazz
By Daniel Lewis
Hutchison played for a small school in a small conference, but if there’s anything to be learned from Damian Lillard, who graduated from a small school in Utah in Weber State, it’s to not overlook skilled players who have thrived in their role.
Hutchison is a 6-foot-7, 200-pound wing with a 7-foot-1 wingspan, and would be a strong defender at small forward for the Jazz. He is able to suffocate playmakers on the perimeter with his ability to move his feet laterally and keep his hands us occupying passing lanes.

He improved his 3-point shot over his career at Boise State, although his percentages took a bit of a drop his senior year as he took over more of the ballhandling for the Broncos. He has the instincts to attack closeouts, and the athleticism to finish at the rim against post defenders that have rotated over. If the defense beats him to his spot, he uses his vision to pass the ball to a teammate, as demonstrated by his 3.5 assists per game his senior year.
Hutchison is one of the most attractive options in the draft for the Jazz. If his name is called in connection with Utah, a lot of people will be very happy.
