2. Minnesota Wild

Unlike the Canucks, the Wild seem pretty convinced that their current core can do some damage very soon. Players such as Zach Parise, Ryan Suter, Devan Dubnyk and Matthew Dumba have been around for a while, and they’re probably not moving either.

The Ducks and the Wild have been sharing similar playoff experiences. Too much focus has been placed on experience and chemistry rather than the skills and plays needed to go far in the postseason.

One team is shifting away from that idea, but Minnesota is still all in on it. That is probably the biggest reason that Perry could fit into their club.

Replacing Matt Cullen and Daniel Winnik with Perry would be a great move for a team that could always use an extra scoring boost in the Central Division. Furthermore, Perry is a playoff competitor which would fit the mold of pretty much every player on the current Wild side.

While not trying to promote this idea at all, the Wild could send prospects such as Joel Eriksson-Ek back to the Ducks if need be. It may seem insane on paper, but that’s most likely what Anaheim would be looking for if they are trading away a core player. And with the Wild’s current structure, it could just work out.

Challenges with the Wild and Perry involve money. Minnesota have to make decisions on Dumba and Jason Zucker regarding their expiring contracts, and they do not have that many dollars to do so.
