2018 BIG3 season preview: Analysis, projections and picks
By John Hugar
1. Trilogy (2017 Record: 8-0)
I’ll be honest; if all I were basing this was roster talent, I’m not should I’d have Trilogy at the top of the ranking. Several other teams made offseason moves that may put them ahead of the defending champs. That being said, what I can’t ignore here is the degree to which Trilogy dominated the league last season. They didn’t just win every game; they won them by an average of 11 points! Basically, they existed within their own stratosphere. They will likely be challenged more this year than they were in 2017, but I have a hard time definitively seeing any team as better.

What this team has just works; Kenyon Martin and James White are dunk machines who also play defense (White was Defensive Play Of The Year), while Al Harrington is still getting buckets after all these years. Trilogy were the only team not to select a player in the draft, and the lack of new blood might be an issue, but at the same time, this also means they’ve kept their chemistry intact more than any other team in the league. Rashad McCants has also thrived here, making us think of what he might have done if he’d been given more time to prove himself in the NBA. The league should be more competitive this season, but Trilogy are the team to beat until someone proves otherwise.
Predictions:
Championship: Trilogy over Tri-State
MVP: Amar’e Stoudemire
Defensive Player Of The Year: Metta World Peace
