NBA Free Agency 2018: 5 offseason targets for the Toronto Raptors

4. Doug McDermott
At 26, McDermott is about four years younger than Ellington. He’s also about four inches taller and most likely a few million cheaper to sign. The latter number makes him more of a possibility. The former makes him possibly a better fit alongside Lowry and DeRozan.
In four full seasons, McDermott has already called four different NBA cities home. However, McDermott’s career 3-point percentage is .403, suggesting that maybe if he were to play for a winning roster, his own efforts might be viewed as more valuable. Again, Toronto doesn’t possess a lot of financial flexibility, so quality upgrades at any position will be hard to come by.
If McDermott’s slightly more recognizable name makes his price tag too expensive, a player like Brooklyn Nets free agent Joe Harris might also do the trick.
