3. Michael Beasley

The Beas might prefer filling up stat sheets on mediocre to bad teams. Then again, at 29, he may be at just the right moment in his career to suffer from delusions of grandeur that move him away from individual pursuits and toward a unified vision.

He would most definitely add firepower off the bench, and he would be able to score in ways that neither Ibaka nor Valanciunas can. Is he something of an unstable element? Sure. But ring ceremonies and Finals appearances have been established with more dangerous substances in tow.

Besides, really, what does Toronto have to lose? This is a reinvigorated Beasley and this is all going to work or get blown up in two years by the inevitable asteroid clichés and extinction jokes. But, with that future scenario likely, maybe they should consider the likes of Mario Hezonja, who is only 23 and still rounding into form.

A Raptor walks into a bar, and the bartender says, “You have no money.” That’s it. That’s the non-extinction Raptors joke.
