Let’s go over four possible, and one ridiculous, Paul George destinations

3. Houston Rockets

Even though the Rockets aren’t exactly favorites, they’re one of the realistic frontrunners for George. They pursued him last offseason, but the Thunder were able to scoop him up beforehand. However, GM Daryl Morey and his front office were all on the same page after losing in seven to the Warriors: Houston needs another star. Even more convincing is the fact that nobody within the organization is denying the fact they want him — it’s up to George now. If they’re unable to land LeBron, the Rockets will surely turn their attention to George.

If you’re George, there’s nothing unappealing about the Rockets. Massive market, massive paycheck (owner Tilman Fertitta has already said paying cap taxes is no problem) and a chance to win rings. The Rockets were minutes away from advancing to the Finals last season, even leading the Warriors in the series before Chris Paul went down with an injury. Few outside California believe the Rockets would’ve lost the series with a healthy Paul. However, Houston is turning to George in hopes to add more fire power for next season.

It’s apparent the Rockets aren’t too far from lifting a trophy, but do they need George to do so? Time will tell, but he takes the stress off Harden and CP3. In addition, it will also add another headache for defenses trying to guard this star-studded offense. If the Rockets are able to keep their essential pieces and add George, they’ll be a force to reckon with.
