4. Do absolutely nothing!

The Boston Bruins not only made the playoffs last season, but they had a decent run before being ousted by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Regardless of the outcome, the Bruins are a young team and the 2018 playoff run gave some of their kids a ton of valuable playoff experience.

A prime example of this is Jake DeBrusk. DeBrusk is a great young talent, son of 1990’s NHL rough-houser Louie DeBrusk. Jake DeBrusk had 43 points (16-27) in 70 gmaes in his first full season with the Bruins. What was more impressive though, were his six playoff goals.

The best part about these young players in Boston is not only the amount of skill they have in waiting, but also that these guys are buying into “bruin a Bruin.” Here’s a prime example of DeBrusk showing a ton of heart, something you just can’t teach.

Charlie McAvoy, Jake DeBrusk, Ryan Donato, Anders Bjork Brandon Carlo and David Pastrnak (yes, actually) are all under 23 years old.  While veteran players like Patrice Bergeron and Zdeno Chara are older, they are still playing some of their best hockey.

Brad Marchand is coming off of an 85-point season in which he was one of the best offensive players in the NHL. He makes up the top line in hockey alongside Bergeron and Pastrnak and they don’t look to be regressing any time soon.

If the Bruins don’t land a big-name free agent in the off-season, have no fear. This team is poised to improve upon last season’s success with everything they currently have in-house.
