5. The transformation of the U.S. Bank Stadium during the weekend of the X Games is an amazing feat.

Looking at the layout of the X Games courses you would think that months and months of work went into making everything perfect. That is true, but the way they can rearrange the dirt and ramps will have you speechless. The people who run the X Games have everything working as clockwork. They know what has to be where and when it was to be there. All the skateboard events coincide with each other, as well as BMX and Moto X.

By Saturday night, all the Moto X air events were finished and the officials and workers had a stiff task of converting the mountains of dirt to a flat track for Sunday’s Harley-Davidson Flat Track Racing & Harley Hooligan Racing Final. They literally had to move mountains and get everything set within 12 hours.

These Flat track riders hit speeds upwards of 100 mph as they fly around this fresh flat track 20 times, ach trying to push past the next while also trying to keep from slipping or whipping out. At the very end of the final race, we saw a rider slip out and it cost him a podium spot. The traction of the course and the details put into making it right are crucial for the riders.

The 2018 Harley-Davidson Flat Track Racing saw Jared Mees take the gold medal followed by Briar Bauman in second and Jake Johnson in third. The entire final race took under five minutes, but those five minutes were jam-packed with action from start to nail-biting finish.
