7. Ronnie Renner makes a historic 18th appearance in the Moto X Step Up competition

X Games Moto X Step Up wouldn’t be the same without Ronnie Renner. One of the originals of the sport, Renner has been competing in Moto X Step Up since 2001. With 15 X Games medals, Renner is one of the most decorated Moto X riders of all time.

After winning Step Up gold from 2012 to 2015, Renner had come health problems in 2016 and 2017. Following a back injury that knocked him out of competition in 2017, Renner cut back on his practices to avoid further injury. The lack of practice didn’t keep him from making his way back in 2018 and showing that he still belongs among the best of the best in Moto X Step up.

After clearing a height of 38 feet, Renner was unable to continue and finished in fourth place behind Jarryd McNeil, Libor Podmol, and Colby Raha.

This fourth place is nothing to look down on for this 41-year-old Moto X legend, no doubt he will be back next year flying higher than ever before, looking to add some hardware to his trophy case.
