2. Jonathan Quick

NHL 14 featured Martin Brodeur on the cover, the first goalie to be showcased by EA in a long time. More love needs to be given to the stars in between the pipes.

Quick operates a very quiet but passionate game for the Los Angeles Kings. When watching Quick, you’ll quickly notice just how often he communicates with the players in front of him. He leads from an area of the ice in which it’s hard to lead.

Another aspect that makes Quick so special is his style of goaltending. The 32-year-old moves in rapid pace from post-to-post, while being able to make uncanny saves doing splits. He can probably shift faster on his knees than most goalies could standing up.

What he does for the eye reflects in his achievements and stats. We’re talking about a two-time Stanley Cup winner, a Conn Smythe winner, a Craig Jennings winner, a goalie who can eat 60-70 games when healthy and someone who can post a winning record each season.

Quick is surely a top five goalie right now. Some are quick to disagree with that statement, but Quick is fine with that. He’ll keep bringing in his own style to the game that has helped bring some major recognition to hockey in Los Angeles.
