7. Josh Donaldson: Vikings

Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson already looks like a viking. When you look the part, and you’re a fan of the show, you might as well use your celebrity status to play a viking on TV, right?

That’s exactly what Donaldson did on the hit show Vikings. The Bringer of Rain brought his Vikings fandom to the next level by flying from Toronto to the show’s filming location in Ireland to be featured in an episode.

It wasn’t hard to prep Donaldson for the part of “Hoskuld the viking warrior,” as the hair and beard he sported all season were already viking-esque. He was even given a speaking role in the episode, which he nailed, despite no acting background.

Unfortunately for Donaldson, he’s been dealing with various injuries on-and-off for multiple seasons now. Most recently, the 2015 AL MVP has been struggling with a calf injury.

The good news for Donaldson is running again but is still a ways from rejoining the team. The bad news is that even though the Blue Jays organization has what looks like a star third-baseman in Vlad Guererro Jr. coming up, there’s a chance Donaldson leaves in free agency, giving the Jays nothing in return.

We’ll always have those two good years, Josh. And you’ll always have a back up plan as a full-time Vikings actor if/when you choose to retire from baseball.
