24. Oregon Ducks – Justin Herbert, QB

Oregon is coming off of a rocky 2017, and if they want to rebound and stay in the top 25 they’ll need a strong season across the board. The defense returns a very good group along the front seven. Defensive end Jalen Jelks is looking to be the top pass rusher in the conference. Justin Hollins will help him create pressure from the interior, and do-it-all defender Troy Dye will be flying all over the field.

But, what this team really needs is their offense to fly high like they did under Chip Kelly. That starts with the quarterback position, who is the most valuable to this team. Junior Justin Herbert had a solid season as a sophomore, ending the year with over nine yards per attempt and only throwing five interceptions.

This season, he will take the reigns on offense with last season’s leading rusher, Royce Freeman, in the NFL. Herbert will need to improve with his decision making and accuracy this season, but if he does that, the Ducks will be a team to watch.

The most important part of Herbert’s improvement would be him playing in every game this season. If Oregon loses Herbert this season to injury, they will struggle on offense.
