23. Boston College Eagles – A.J. Dillon, RB

Boston College finished 7-6 last season, and they’re looking to make a jump in the deep ACC. To do so, they need to build on last season. The offense improved significantly, gaining 94 more yards per game in 2017 than in 2016, and the defense only gave up 22.8 points per game last season.

To continue the upswing, they need quarterback Anthony Brown to develop more as a passer in his sophomore season. The Eagles also need their defense to put up pressure. With Ty Schwab gone, Zach Allen needs to step up and be the guy.

Third, they need their most valuable player, A.J. Dillon, to build on his first season with the Eagles. Dillon broke onto the scene as a freshman for Boston College. He rushed for 1,589 yards and 14 touchdowns last season, and there’s no reason he can’t meet and exceed those numbers as a sophomore.

Boston College also needs him to stay healthy all season. He accounted for over half of their rushing touchdowns for one, and their passing offense isn’t very dangerous right now. They need Dillon to have another great year if they want to improve as a team and make a move in the ACC, especially with teams like Duke and North Carolina getting better.
