40. Chris Carson, Seattle Seahawks

Carson and rookie Rashaad Penny will be fighting for most of the season for touches. They are both talented players who could easily win the bulk of the carries. However, the Seahawks used a first round pick on Penny which absolutely works against Carson.

39. Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers

Green Bay’s backfield is a little crowded with Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams and Ty Montgomery fighting for touches. Montgomery has a strong chance to be the third down back leaving Jones and Williams chasing the early-down carries.

Jones brings a little more explosiveness than Williams which could be the determining factor.

38. Carlos Hyde, Cleveland Browns

Hyde is slated to open the season as the Browns top running back. He’s a talented runner who has produced when healthy. The problem is that he hasn’t been able to stay on the field. Rookie Nick Chubb is also waiting in the wings to steal his job.

37. C.J. Anderson, Carolina Panthers

Anderson’s career with the Denver Broncos really never took off like expected. Now, he’s in Carolina playing backup to Christian McCaffrey. The one thing working in Anderson’s favor is McCaffrey’s strength as a pass catcher.

I’m sure we will see plenty of sets where both players on the field at the same time.

36. Sony Michel, New England Patriots

Michel’s injury history and current situation is a major concern. He has already missed most of training camp and is questionable for the start of the season. Bill Belichick’s crazy running back usage also hurts his stock.

It’s tough to really gauge Michel’s value because he has the talent to be a real difference maker. However, the negatives going against him make it risky to take him near his ADP.
