2. Manchester City demolish Huddersfield

Last year’s Premier League champions, Manchester City, started off their title defense with a particularly impressive win at Arsenal. The Light Blues looked almost unplayable and they certainly could have won the game by more than a two-goal margin.

Pep Guardiola’s side play their first home game this weekend as they welcome Huddersfield to the Etihad Stadium. The Terriers had a difficult first week as they were soundly beaten by Maurizio Sarri’s new-look Chelsea side 3-0.

It only gets more difficult for Huddersfield as they face the champions in their opening home match of the league season.

Barring something miraculous this game only really has one result — a Manchester City win. Huddersfield will set up to try and keep City out but the Manchester team have proved on many occasion that no matter who they face they will find the net.

The next question is how many will Huddersfield concede and the answer to that one is, a lot. Guardiola’s side have such amazing attacking threats from the back of the pitch to the front although they will be missing one key man in Kevin de Bruyne.

The Belgian playmaker was injured in training this week and looks set to miss at least a few months.

While that’s a big loss for Manchester City they certainly do have good enough players to keep them competitive in the league. However, his presence will definitely be missed in the Champions League.

Even without de Bruyne we fancy City to put five past Huddersfield and send the Terriers packing with their tail between their legs.
