Tyreek Hill – WR, Kansas City Chiefs

ADP: #28  (WR10)

When I was in the “science is actually cool” phase of life, I always loved the show Mythbusters. It presented something many people believed, then told you how ridiculous those beliefs really were.

Let’s approach the Chiefs wideout with the same principles Adam and Jamie used to teach me.

Myth: “Tyreek Hill is the ultimate touchdown threat”

Truth: This is only true when it comes to the deep ball. Hill scored seven touchdowns last season and five of them came on pass plays of 50 yards or more. That’s absolutely insane. Not in a good way, but in the “there’s no chance in hell that happens again” way.

His red zone target share was only 5.6%. Once the team got down the field he completely disappeared from the game plan. To put it in perspective, he garnered as many red zone looks as Braxton Miller and Rishard Higgans. Yikes. Not the kind of volume you want from your WR1.

Myth: “Pat Mahomes is an upgrade throwing the deep ball”

Truth: Guess what folks? MAMA’S WROOOONG AGAIN!

Seriously, stop it. Stop the Alex Smith hate.

Smith was second in the entire league when it came to throwing the ball down the field, and his efficiency was historic. He’s a much better quarterback than he gets credit for and Kansas City fans might be in for a rude awakening when they realize that. Hill was due to regress either way, and now he has to depend on a rookie QB? No thanks.

Myth: “He’s the only one demanding targets in the Chiefs WR core”

Truth:
