Houston Texans – Andre Johnson

The Houston Texans have not been around that long by NFL standards, as they were established in 1999. Making their NFL debut in 2002, it took a while for the Texans to actually become relevant, as they missed on some draft picks early on, including first ever selection David Carr from Fresno State.

The problem with Carr was he had no protection, as expansion draft pick Tony Boselli was never able to play for them due to injuries. That put  the franchise back some, and while they have been good lately, it took a long time to get there.

In recent years, the Texans have been a major player in the AFC South, and they could be on the brink of something special with quarterback Deshaun Watson. While the organization has been playing now for 16 years, they have not really changed the look of their jersey, although the alternate Battle Red jerseys are very sharp.

When it comes to picking out a throwback jersey, the original uniform looks a bit different, but nothing really stands out. You would be wise to buy one based on a certain player, and there have been good ones in wide receiver Andre Johnson and running back Adrian Foster.

Houston is going to compete in the AFC South this season, as Watson is back after tearing up his knee, as is former NFL Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt. Those guys are going to anchor both sides of the ball, and in a suddenly loaded division, they could come out on top.
