Miami Dolphins – Dan Marino

The authors of the only perfect season in NFL history, the Miami Dolphins came into existence back in 1965. Playing in the AFL until the merger in 1970, the Dolphins put together back-to-back championship seasons in the early 1970s, including that magical 1972 campaign.

Back then, Don Shula was the head coach of the Dolphins, and quickly became one of the best at  his craft the league has ever seen. While the Dolphins have not won a Super Bowl since 1973, they have produced some incredibly talented players, including one of the best quarterbacks of all-time.

That man is Dan Marino, and while he never got to lead the Dolphins to a Super Bowl, he was one of the more productive quarterbacks of his era. During that time, he had two star wide receivers in Mark Duper and Mark Clayton, giving the Dolphins one of the better passing attacks in NFL history.

Marino and his teammates wore the best throwback jersey in team history, as they donned that classic teal jersey, with the white letters and orange border. The team has stayed close to the same color scheme since then, but that is the jersey to have for Fins fans.

In 2016, the Dolphins unexpectedly made the playoffs, which has not been common place for years. They struggled in 2017, but have Ryan Tannehill back for 2018, though that may not be enough to get them back to the playoffs.
