New England Patriots – John Hannah

The New England Patriots began life in professional football as the Boston Patriots, and they used that name up until the NFL merger in 1970. In 1971, they changed their name to the Bay State Pats, before becoming the New England Patriots for good after that one season.

Over the course of the team’s history, they enjoyed a few flashes of success, including going to the Super Bowl back in the mid-1980s. Unfortunately for the Patriots, and their offense, they went up against one of the best defenses in NFL history in the Chicago Bears, and were really blown out in the biggest game of the year.

The fortunes of the franchise changed in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, when they took Tom  Brady with the No. 199 overall pick. Since then, Brady has led them to five Super Bowl titles, and established the Patriots are arguably the best dynasty in the history of the NFL.

Currently, the Patriots pay homage to this jersey during the regular season, and it is always awesome when you see them on the field. The helmet is legendary, and those bright red jerseys with the blue and white stripes on the sleeves is definitely a must-have when it comes to throwback jerseys for a Pats fan.

The Patriots are once again expected to be the best team in the AFC in 2018, and at this point, it is starting to get a bit ridiculous. Brady has become the savior that this franchise was looking for, and after another MVP season in 2017, he does not appear to be slowing down any time soon.
