Oakland Raiders – Daryle Lamonica

One of the more iconic franchises in all of professional sports, the Oakland Raiders began play all the way back in 1960. After playing in the AFL until the merger, the Raiders made their way to the AFC West of the NFL, and have been there ever since.

The Raiders played their football in Oakland until 1981, when they made the move to Los Angeles. They played inside the Los Angeles Coliseum up until 1994, and moved back to Oakland for the 1995 season. In 2020, they will move again, this time to Las Vegas.

In the history of the franchise, the Raiders have won three Super Bowls, but have not hoisted the Vince Lombardi Trophy since the early 1980s. They are still one of the more beloved franchises in the NFL and Raider Nation is very much alive from coast to coast.

The best throwback jersey to have when it comes to the history of the Raiders, is the white jersey with the silver letters and numbers. A homage to the 1963 jersey, Oakland brought these jerseys back out in 1994, when the NFL celebrated their 75th anniversary.

The 2018 season will be an interesting one for the Silver and Black, who are welcoming back former head coach Jon Gruden for his second tenure at the helm. They have some of the best young talent in football in guys like Derek Carr and Khalil Mack, but they are coming off a six-win season, and have a lot of holes to fill.
