Tennessee Titans – Warren Moon

The Tennessee Titans franchise has been around since 1959, and made their AFL debut during the 1960 season. They stayed in the AFL until the merger in 1970, though during those years, they were known as the Houston Oilers, and stayed in Houston until the 1997 season.

In 1997, the Titans moved to Tennessee, though they kept their nickname. They retired the Oilers nickname in 1999, and in that first season as the Titans, they actually won the AFC title. They would go on to lose to the St. Louis Rams in the Super Bowl, but it was definitely a memorable run for the franchise.

Back in the late 1970s, all the way through the early 1990s, the then-Oilers were a playoff mainstay. With a Hall of Fame quarterback in Warren Moon, Houston went to the playoffs seven straight years from 1987-93, though they were never able to  get to the big game.

The best throwback jersey you can have when it comes to the Tennessee Titans franchise would have to be the jersey that brings you back to those Oilers days. The sky blue jerseys the Houston Oilers used to wear have white letters and numbers with a red outline, and brings fans back to the days of Bruce Matthews and Warren Moon.

Now the Titans, the Tennessee franchise has a solid young quarterback in former Oregon Duck Marcus Mariota. They are a team that could wind up being a perennial playoff contender due to the talent on their roster, but they will have to navigate a very tough AFC South in 2018.
