Carolina Panthers – Sam Mills

The Carolina Panthers came into existence back in 1993, though they did not play their first season in the NFL until 1995. Since their inception, they have been to two Super Bowls, and it only took eight years for them to get to their first one, as they took on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Carolina lost that game, and when they made it back in 2015, they lost once again, this time to Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. Still, getting to the playoffs eight times in your first 22 years is pretty impressive, and they have the talent on the roster to get there again.

When thinking of a throwback jersey to have when it comes to the Panthers, visions of Sam Mills started running through my head from way back when the organization got its start. Mills was a star linebacker of the team, and despite his small size, he became one of the more dominant linebackers of his time.

The Panthers eventually introduced a blue jersey, which is used as an alternate, but for the most part, they have not changed the scheme too much over the years. In fact, if you are thinking about getting a throwback jersey, they will not look too much different than if you just wanted to get a Cam Newton jersey now.

Carolina has been a solid franchise since coming into the league, and their choice of colors since day one was a home run.
