Chicago Bears – Walter Payton

The Chicago Bears are one of the more storied franchises in all of sports, and they have produced some all-time talent that will never be forgotten. From Walter Payton to Mike Ditka, the Bears are one of those teams that have fans all over the world, and they have had an iconic look for most of their history.

Beginning as the Decatur Staleys, the Bears took their current name in 1922, only two years after being established. They have won eight league championships, seven of which came before the AFL-NFL merger, and their only Super Bowl win, back in 1985, produced some of the more iconic players in team history.

In 1983, after the death of George Halas, the Bears started wearing his initials on their sleeve. During the 1980s, the Bears put together one of the best defenses the NFL has ever seen, and it is from that time period that every Bears fan should have a throwback jersey.

Even today, if you walked into Soldier Field you would see people wearing Payton, or Singletary jerseys, paying homage to one of the best teams in NFL history. That Monsters of the Midway defense rolled over the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, and it is pretty amazing that they only won one title with that team.

Currently, the Bears have a pretty young roster, but they seem to have a solid young quarterback in Mitchell Trubisky. The organization went out and got him some explosive weapons this offseason, and with a very capable defense, they could go out there and surprise some people this season.
