Gordon Ramsay  – Rangers

Many of the celebrity fans on this list have had dreams or aspirations of playing one day, but how many of them can say they actually attended professional trials? Furthermore, how many can say they attended trials for their favorite teams?

Gordon Ramsay is on that list. Before his days as one of the world’s most famous (and outspoken) celebrity chefs, Ramsay was an amateur player looking to join the ranks of the Scottish side. At one point, it was believed that Ramsay was a regular player years ago for Rangers, playing several games with the first team.

In recent years, however, he’s downplayed his involvement as a young player with the club. In his autobiography, Ramsay admits that while he did in fact attend trials at Rangers for youth players, an unfortunate knee injury effectively ended any hopes he had of playing for the first team.

These days, Ramsay is fairly removed from the sport he once hoped to play for a living. He hosts several cooking shows on television, including Master Chef, Kitchen Nightmares and Hell’s Kitchen. Ramsay’s spirited and often profane rants have given him a level of notoriety around the world, and his restaurants are among some of the most highly rated on the planet.

Ramsay’s connection to Rangers extends to one of its supporters’ groups. He pledged his support for the group Rangers First on Twitter, a group intent on buying a stake in the team so that they can have a say when it comes to front office decisions.
