Shakira – Barcelona

Colombian singer Shakira is one of the more recognizable and popular artists on the planet. Her music is loved around the world, both by English and Spanish speaking audiences. She’s won three Grammys and 13 Latin Grammys, and even has her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Even though she is a multi-platinum artist, she may not be the biggest star in her own home.

Shakira is married to longtime Barcelona center-back Gerard Pique, who is very accomplished in his own right. During his time with Barcelona, Pique has won the treble on two separate occasions. He’s also won both the World Cup  (2010) and Euros (2012) with the Spanish national team.

Shakira can often be seen at the Camp Nou supporting Pique and the rest of the club, along with the couple’s two children. Barca seem to be big fans of hers as well, with members of the youth team posting a video celebrating with one of her songs playing in the background.

She often wears her fandom on her sleeve, and gets into the games as much as any other supporter would. Cameras spotted her at a 2016 game against Real Madrid, Barca’s hated rivals, clearly stressed about the ongoing proceedings.

She supports players on the team other than her husband, posing with now-Everton player and fellow Colombian Yerry Mina when Barca celebrated winning a double after last season. She also attended Lionel Messi’s wedding with Pique last summer, thanking Messi and his wife for their hospitality at the reception.
